Description

Total Sweet is xylitol, a granulated sweetener produced in Finland from birch and beech wood. It looks and measures like ordinary sugar: use it to sweeten hot drinks, cereal or fruit, and the maker says it can replace sugar one for one in cakes, biscuits and other bakes. The 1kg bag is a good size if you bake with it regularly.

Ingredients: 100% natural xylitol.

Excessive consumption may produce laxative effects. If this happens, the manufacturer suggests cutting back until your body gets used to it, and keeping daily intake to 5–10g per 10kg of body weight. It also advises avoiding xylitol during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and not giving it to very young children.

Never give xylitol, or food made with it, to dogs: the manufacturer warns it can be dangerous and even fatal for them.

Store in a cool, dry place.
