Brown Basmati Rice
All the fragrance of basmati with the bran and germ left on: a nuttier flavour, a firmer bite and more fibre than white basmati. The natural partner for curries, dahl and spiced pilafs when you want the wholegrain version.
Options: certified organic and everyday brown basmati.
Kitchen notes: rinse well and allow a longer simmer than white basmati (around 25–30 minutes); a 10-minute rest off the heat keeps the grains separate.
Nutrition: a wholegrain with slow-release carbohydrates and more fibre than white rice.
