Our Citric Acid (Food Grade) is anhydrous, suitable for consumption and available in 500g, 1kg, 2kg and 3kg pouches plus a 25kg trade size.
How to use it
- Preserving: a pinch lowers the pH of jams and marmalades and helps the set.
- Flavour: adds a sharp citrus tang to sherbet, sour sweets and dressings – 1/4 tsp stands in for 1 tbsp of lemon juice.
- Bath bombs: mix one part citric acid with two parts Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda).
- Descaling: dissolve about two tablespoons per litre of hot water to clear limescale from kettles and coffee machines, then rinse.
Store in a cool, dry place in a sealed container, away from damp, and it will keep free-flowing and ready for kitchen or household use.

Citric Acid FAQs
Is this citric acid food grade? Yes. It's anhydrous, food-grade citric acid suitable for consumption, so you can use it in cooking and preserving as well as for household jobs.
How much citric acid replaces lemon juice? As a rough guide, about 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid gives a similar tartness to 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Add a little at a time and taste.
How do I make bath bombs with it? Mix one part citric acid to two parts bicarbonate of soda, add a little oil and water to bind, then mould and dry. The acid and bicarb are what create the fizz.
How should I store it? Keep it sealed in a cool, dry place away from damp, which keeps the powder free-flowing.
