Ajvar
Ajvar is the Balkans' beloved roasted red pepper and aubergine spread – and the real thing is slowly fire-roasted, not a watery puree bulked with starch and sugar. Ours is made the traditional way: peppers and aubergine roasted until smoky-sweet, blended with oil and garlic, nothing artificial.
Mild: sweet and family-friendly – the everyday jar.
Piquant (hot): the same depth with a proper fiery kick.
How to use it
Far more than a dip for crusty bread: an instant pasta sauce base, a thick spread for burgers and sandwiches, folded into scrambled eggs, or served the classic way alongside grilled meats and kebabs.
