Description
All About Organic Einkorn Flour:
Einkorn is one of the earliest cultivated varieties of wheat. It differs from modern wheat in that it is genetically distinct and only has single grains on either side of the ear, hence its name Einkorn from the German 'ein' meaning one.
Einkorn has continued to be cultivated in remote agricultural communities throughout central and southern Europe where for thousands of years these precious grains have been preserved for their remarkable qualities. Today we love making flours from these extraordinary ancient grains and strive to preserve and promote these rare and unusual varieties to protect this extraordinary Biodiversity.
Instructions For Use:
Einkorn flour can be used as a healthier replacement for whole wheat flour in most recipes, from cakes to waffles to pies. The rich flavour of this ancient flour makes for a hearty, slightly nutty loaf that makes lovely sandwiches.
Storage Use:
Store in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat and damp.
