What Are Glacé Cherries?
Our Glacé Cherries have been simmered in thick sugar syrup until they became 'candied'. The sugar syrup replaces all the natural moisture in the cherries which helps preserve them.
Why Should I get Glacé Cherries ?
They contain important nutrients such as beta-carotene,19 times more than blueberries or strawberries, vitamin C, potassium, magnesium, iron, fibre and folate.
Probably the most popular candied fruit, they're perfect for cakes (especially chocolate ones), scones, shortbreads, muffins and fruitcakes. These cherries are also great atop a trifle or ice cream sundae. Glacé cherries deserve to be the cherry on top of every dessert!
Instructions For Use:
Glacé cherries are usually bright red, they are sweet with a slightly bitter flavour. They keep their colour even after being baked – making them ideal for recipes like Christmas bread, fruit cakes, cherry & almond traybake and-butter pudding or an old-fashioned cherry cake.
Storage Instructions:
Store in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat and damp.
