Wild Rice was historically gathered and eaten in North America, India and China. While now a delicacy in North America, the grain is eaten less in China where the plant's stem is used as a vegetable.
Our Organic Wild Rice is imported from Canada (North-western Ontario) and is regarded as the most nutritious from the four species of grasses forming the genus Zizaniahas. It has also gained popularity not only because of its incredible flavour and appearance but also because of its multiple health benefits. .

It is a perfect wheat flour substitute for people who are allergic to gluten as it is gluten free. It contains higher protein content than most other whole grains. It is also a good source of essential vitamins and minerals such as Magnesium, Vitamin B6, Iron and Potassium.

Instructions for Use:
To Cook: Rinse the rice, place 125g ℮ in a large pan, stir in 450ml of boiling water. Return to the boil, cover, and simmer for 45-50 minutes until the grains have popped. Take off the heat & keep the pan covered for a further 5 minutes then fork through the grains add a knob of butter
Storage Instructions:
Store in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat and damp.
