Brown mustard seeds come from the Brassica juncea plant which originated in the Himalayans. It is also often referred to as Chinese mustard or Indian mustard.
Brown mustard seeds are less hot than black and spicier than yellow mustard seeds. They are also more bitter than yellow mustard seeds.
Mustard seeds and have several nutritional benefits. They contain a variety of minerals, including iron, magnesium, zinc, calcium, and phosphorus as well as omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants.
Instructions for Use:
For an extra bit of flavour and heat, add theses seeds to dressings, rubs, marinades, and sauces, and include it in curries and bean dishes. Alternatively crush the seeds to make a mustard paste. Mustard seeds can also be used for pickling or brining foods.
Store in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat and damp.
