Description

What Is Organic Arborio Rice?

Arborio rice is named after the town in Italy where it was originally cultivated.

The rice has short, fat and slightly oval-shaped kernels with a pearly white exterior. This makes it the perfect basis for an authentic Italian risotto, and is the classic choice of rice to create this dish.

Benefits of Organic Arborio Rice

Although it is starchier than traditional long-grain white rice, the extra starch does not mean it's higher in carbs. Its also high in protein as well as a good source of vitamin A and C. In fact, a cup of arborio rice contains around 45% of your daily requirement of essential nutrients.

Cooking with Organic Arborio Rice

When cooked just right, the grain has a delicious, creamy exterior and firm centre. Apart from risotto, it can also be used to make sweet pudding rice, or as an alternative to Spanish rice in Paella.
