Easy orange cake
Easy to make orange cake: ready in less than 1 hour, egg-free and dairy-free. Great to enjoy over the weekend!
120g whole wheat flour
80g all purpose flour
1 tbsp arrowroot (or corn starch)
100g white or brown sugar (powdered)
1 tsp baking soda
1 pinch of salt
250 ml of orange juice
2 tsp orange peel
3 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp ground ginger
Preheat the oven to 180ºc. Grease well the cake pan and dust it with flour. Optional: You can place thinly cut orange slices on the bottom of the cake pan.
In a bowl, add all the dry ingredients and whisk until combined well. Add the wet ingredients to the bowl and mix until smooth.
Pour the batter in the cake pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Check with the toothpick . If the toothpick comes out clean, the cake is ready.
Cool for 30 minutes before serving and remove from the pan. Top with powdered sugar. Serving tip: Serve with cinnamon ice cream.
