Organic red football lentils are whole red lentils – the same sweet, earthy flavour as red split lentils, but with a little more bite.
Because the lentil is left whole rather than split, footballs hold their shape slightly better in the pan, while still cooking quickly with no soaking required. They are high in protein and fibre, with 26g of protein and 11g of fibre per 100g, naturally gluten-free and suitable for vegan and vegetarian diets.

What are red football lentils? Whole red lentils with the outer skin removed but left unsplit, so they keep their rounded shape and stay slightly firmer than organic red split lentils.
Do red football lentils need soaking? No – lentils never need soaking. Just rinse well and simmer until tender.
Why do some batches look different? The original batch carries a trace of organic sunflower oil for a bright, polished finish; the new batch is oil-free, so it looks slightly paler with a matte finish. Quality, cook time and flavour are identical.
